Rural Economy
Anhui is the initial place of rural reform in China.Rural reform
have librated and developed rural productivity, and promoted the
development of rural economy. Through 20 years reform, main agricultural
products have achieved basic balance from long time shortage, and
agricultural productivity and soil output increased remarkably,
rural economy also have been developed  remarkably. By 20 years reform, total agricultural value increased 6.4% annually, farmers income increased 13.8% annually, grain production increased
2.4% annually, oil output increased 10.4% annually, cotton output
increased 4.2% annually, meat output increased 8.7% annually, aquatic
production increased 16.8% annually. By now, annually agricultural
output value arrived above 14 billion U$, takes 23% of GDP, within
agriculture, plant output value takes 54% of total agriculture value,
livestock value takes 30%, fish value takes 11%. Average grain per
capital is 400 kg, oil 43 kg, meat 47 kg. At the end of year 1990, agriculture
and rural economy development in Anhui province entered a new period,
To promote agricultural structure strategically adjustment and increase
farmers income are the centric target within new period, the main
line for our agriculture production is take national and international
market as leading point, to adjust agricultural variety structure,
regional distribution structure, industry and labor structure. As
China entered WTO, we have paid attention to production quality,
commerce and agricultural industry, and now have formed good beginning.
There are over 3200 top enterprises in Anhui province, they
have maken up of main forces for market agriculture.
